Liability; Enforcement; Violations and Penalties
Persons Liable.
Any person, firm or corporation who fails to comply with or violates any of these regulations may be held responsible for the violation and be subject to the penalties and remedies herein provided.

Violations and Penalties.
Violations of this Chapter or failure to comply with any of its requirements shall constitute an ordinance violation, punishable by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding one (1) year, or both such fines and imprisonment pursuant to the provisions of Section 89.490, RSMo.

Each day that any such violation continues after written notification by the Village, delivered by certified mail, that such violation exists shall be considered a separate offense for purposes of the penalties and remedies specified herein.

The owner or agent of a structure or premises in or upon which a violation of any provision of this Chapter has been committed or shall exist; or the lessee or tenant of an entire structure or entire premises in or upon which violation has been committed or shall exist; or the agent, architect, structure or premises in or upon which violation has been committed or shall exist, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation as authorized under state law.

In case any structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted or maintained, or any structure or land is used in violation of this Chapter, the appropriate authorities, in addition to other remedies, may institute injunction, mandamus or other appropriate action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion, maintenance of use, or to correct or abate such violation or to prevent the occupancy of said structure or land.

Civil Enforcement.
Appropriate actions and proceedings may be taken by law or in equity pursuant to Section 89.490, RSMo., to prevent any violation of these regulations, to prevent unlawful construction, to recover damages, to restrain, correct or abate a violation, to prevent illegal occupancy of a building, structure or premises, and these remedies shall be in addition to the penalties described above.
